Summer in Trentino, a great season for your “nature week”

Many know Val di Fassa as one of the most famous tourist destinations for skiing, but in summer its beauty is just as fascinating.

In the Summer there is an abundance of things to do and see in Val di Fassa, especially for those who love sports and being active — many different activities outdoors await.

Mountain bike

Mountain biking in Trentino is like being in paradise, as there are mountains to climb, woods to explore, but also real biker thrills. We also have a bicycle stand and will provide you all the necessary material to explore the best trails of the area.
Not to miss the Sellaronda Mountain Bike Tour, a marvellous trail crossing Val di Fassa, surrounded by the enchanting nature of the Marmolada. Not to mention that in December 2015 the New Funifor Alba – Col dei Rossi will open, the easiest and fastest connection to the Sellaronda.
You can also book the bike express, a bus which in summer connects Val di Fiemme with Val di Fassa, from Canazei to Molina di Fiemme!

Trekking in Val di Fassa is wonderful. Grab your hiking boots and walking sticks because it is probably the sport which is best suited to Trentino in the Summer. Walking up certain mountain sides you can discover hidden corners from which you can enjoy a breath-taking view. Take a few pictures to show your friends back home.
There are hundreds of trekking trails near Soraga, just ask us and we will be happy to recommend a few and provide you with everything you need. Not to miss:

Paneveggio Natural Park
, where you can discover the Foresta dei Violini (Violin Forest) or walk the Marciò trail and visit the deer area

Strada dei Russi - or Russian Road Val di San Nicolò, approx. 2 hours, medium-difficult. The route which is said to have been created by the Russians (hence its name) during World War 2 is not very steep and crosses the alluvial stony ground, called Giaf.

Soraga – Passo San Pellegrino – Rifugio Fuciade this is an easy walk for families. In roughly one hour the trekking trail rises 100 metres starting from the Passo San Pellegrino, reaching the natural amphitheatre of the Fuciade hollow (with a view on the summits of Om, Palon de Jigolè, Sas de Valfreida).

Sounds of the Dolomites

The Sounds of the Dolomites Festival is a music festival in the mountains of Trentino, which is more than 20 years old. The whole summer it offers a rich programme of concerts in the mountains with music for all tastes: from popular to classical music, from singers-songwriters to jazz, every year with great artists. They too are enthralled by the beauty of the Dolomiti.

Hikes For Everybody

There is nothing more beautiful than walking together, feeling life's rhythm, and being enchanted by the beauty of the majestic Dolomites. There are quite a few family hikes, beginning with the valley walk, which starts 2 minutes from the hotel.

And best of all you are welcome to take part in the guided hikes that are scheduled by the Relais Hotel Des Alpes every week: no need to register or book, just show up at the meeting point with your backpack and a smile.

The hikes last up to 5-6 hours, dinner included, and are suited for families with children.

Upon request we will prepare delicious take-away meals for an unforgettable picnic in the mountains!
